This Day in Elvis History - February 22nd

1955 -Elvis gives a concert at the City Hall building in Hope, Arkansas.

1956 - Elvis performed two shows at the City Auditorium in Waycross, Georgia. The first show was at 7:00 p.m., the second was at 9:00 p.m.

1967 - Recording of backing tracks for the movie Clambake continued from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. but without Elvis, who remained at his hotel.

1969 - This was the last night of 'The American Sessions,' recorded in the American Sound Studio. Elvis recorded only one song - "Who Am I?" The session ended at midnight. Elvis never recorded any more sessions at the American Studio.

1970 - Elvis performs two shows at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, at 8:30 p.m. and midnight. Both shows sold out with a crowd of 2,200 at each show. There were some technical difficulties with the sound system in the hotel's showroom. Colonel Parker, Elvis's manager, threatened to cancel the last two shows of the engagement if the sound issues were not fixed.
